Description
As the title states, this is my entry for dinmoney's Traveling Merchant Contest for his upcoming dating sim Faulty Apprentice. For more info on what it's about, please check out the Steam Greenlight page for it. There's even a demo there in case you want to try it out!
This entry's hairstyle is a messy bowl cut from squires and uses clothing based off of pics of Medieval Merchants. Since the character is a harpy, I wanted the tufts of feathers from her body to stick out of her shirt like those ruffled collars royalty had as well as the wings on her arms to mimic the puffiness of the sleeves. The issue is I reduced the wing span so it didn't distract from the silhouette, but it doesn't look like she'll be flying anytime soon. You see, it's tough to fly when you're weighed down by so many material possessions.
Her color scheme was inspired by silkie chickens with purple to pair well with her orange clothing. I picked orange for contrast because it was a color that didn't take up a major color palette of the official characters. The feathers on her head are a design stolen from Hermes, god of commerce. PRO-TIP: If you take from ancient mythology, no one can sue you for copyright infringement.
The Traveling Merchant arrived came with a wagon full of supplies, but she keeps the best products with her in a bag similar to the ones used in golf. At first glance, she looks like a squire golf caddy.
Despite her reserved demeanor, she actually wants to supply the castle quickly and leave ASAP before the invasion begins. The only thing stopping her from doing so is the gratitude she feels towards the inhabitants of Star Reach Castle. Who are they, you ask? Why not download the demo and find out?
